We are Bad Dream Games, the LA-based studio behind One Hand Clapping, a 2D platformer where you sing into your microphone to solve musical puzzles and change the world. It’s a game about confidence, curiosity, compassion, and cacophony. Our short demo made a big impact, receiving numerous nominations and awards, a high number of downloads, popularity among influencers, and recognition in indie game journals.

As we prepare to develop our debut title, we are looking to create a long-lasting, supportive, and collaborative family. We need a talented team that will stick together through thick and thin, that will fearlessly cast their virtuosity into the boiling cauldron of game development and drink of the elixir which is success, creative fulfillment, and an all-round fun time.

Porting Engineer (Full-time)
Technical Artist (Remote Contract)
Porting Engineer (Full-time)
About the position:
We’re looking for a talented and experienced engineer to assist with porting our game to multiple platforms. Porting will be a major operation on which you will take the lead. You’ll have to be particularly steadfast, organized, and fearless. This is a full-time contract position. You must be able to commit to our entire timeline.  

Responsibilities:
  • Modify game code to run on multiple platforms
  • Maximize efficiency on said platforms to ensure high performance
  • Profile performance/memory and track platform-specific issues
  • A generous helping of bug fixing
  • Ensure the game adheres to various platform certification requirements

Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of C# / Unity
  • Experience porting games to consoles and/or mobile
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The patience of a Siberian tiger
  • Kind and caring

Bonus: 
  • Experience with platform certification processes
  • Credit on released titles or demos

Technical Artist (Remote Contract)
About the position:
Your mission will be to enchant the player will spellbinding shaders and playful particles that make the environment and characters feel juicy and dynamic.

Responsibilities:
  • Create satisfying visual effects for characters, mechanics, and the environment
  • Program performant shaders in Unity that can run on multiple platforms
  • Design particle systems that breathe life into the characters and environments of One Hand Clapping
  • Help establish the game’s visual style
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Art Director

Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of particle effects and shaders in Unity
  • Ability to adapt based on feedback
  • Ample experience with visual effects in games
  • Overflowing creativity

Bonus:
  • Fluent in hieroglyphics
  • Credit on released titles or demos
  • Experience as tech artist on multi-platform projects​
